Dr Catherine Ho is an economist, educator, researcher, and Chief Wonderer Officer of Wonder: Education Reimagined, a Singapore-registered social enterprise working to recover people’s capacity to see the economic stories shaping our world. Her doctoral research at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2025), “Recovering Epistemic Sight in a Neoliberalized World,” developed Critical Economic Literacy (CEL) and DISRUPT, a seven-lens thinking routine she now teaches through Wonder’s DISRUPT course to educators, researchers, and practitioners worldwide. She is author of the Sammi Project, the world’s first Critical Economic Literacy picture book for young readers, and is currently creating Mission Impossible in the Matrix, a year-long regenerative learning program for high school students built around connection to self, others, and nature while solving glocal issues in their local communities. A veteran IB Educator and former Global Citizenship (GC) Lead, she is now based in Beijing. She speaks frequently to school audiences including the first IB Festival of Hope in China (2026). Her research is forthcoming in Social Studies Research and Practice (SSRP) and an upcoming Bloomsbury book chapter in Research in Global Social Justice Education: Democracy, Decoloniality, Global Citizenship and Sustainability
