Adina-Iuliana Deacu (邱天美) is an environmental psychology researcher and consultant, systems thinker and designer, social entrepreneur, and facilitator based in China. She is the founder of Tianmei World Academy, a decentralised, cross-cultural, and cross-disciplinary educational platform established in 2015 around the principle that “learning happens everywhere.” Its work bridges academia and practice through experiential learning in everyday environments.
Adina holds an MSc in Environmental Psychology from the University of Surrey and degrees in Urban Planning and Design. Her work explores relationships among people, place, learning, leadership, and socio-ecological transformation. She developed the Invisible Backpack as a reflective framework for examining how lived histories, cultural narratives, memories, emotions, and assumptions travel with us and influence the futures we create.
Her wider practice includes participatory citywalks, workshops, visual storytelling, regenerative business research, and Nature Reclaims: Images of Healing, a photography-based inquiry into ecological reclamation and human healing. A former Klaus Töpfer Sustainability Fellow at the Research Institute for Sustainability – Helmholtz Centre Potsdam, she has also delivered seven TEDx talks in China and regularly facilitates learning across cultural and disciplinary boundaries.
