I was born and raised in England and moved to Green School Bali at 16 years old. It was a shift that changed the way I think about education, and about what learning is actually for.
I’m currently in Grade 12, and completing my final capstone project: Greenstone. My project explores the link between limited access to safe drinking water and plastic pollution in Indonesia – two problems that, on the surface seem separate, but are deeply connected.
That connection became real to me during a visit to a remote school in Lombok. Seeing how unsafe water sources push communities to rely on bottled water and how that reliance creates a cycle of plastic that harms both the environment and people’s health. It made me want to do more than find a one-time fix. It shaped my Greenstone’s focus: that lasting change comes through education, awareness, and advocacy, not just intervention.
