Waqas Habib is a PhD candidate and an emerging researcher in field of science and environmental education at Deakin University’s School of Education. His research investigates the role of emotional intelligence in climate change education, exploring how emotional intelligence shapes people’s engagement with climate change and their willingness to adopt sustainable practices. He is driven to explore innovative approaches to education that build emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and sustainable behaviour. Before his PhD, he completed an MPhil and a Bachelor’s degree in Science Education. He is a strong advocate for climate change education across the Global South and works to make climate education programs emotionally relevant to the realities young people face.
