Yuzu Kawakami

Yuzu is a student at Green School Bali who values the traditions, stories, and cultures that shape a place across generations. Born and raised in rural Japan, surrounded by rice fields. Growing up, she helped her farmer grandparents, gaining hands-on experience with agriculture from an early age. After moving to Bali two years ago, she witnessed the challenges of modern agriculture that local farmers are facing. Her project aims to support these farmers by creating a sustainable framework inspired by her own roots and background. Her goal is to help build a future where farmers don’t have to abandon agriculture under pressure from expanding tourism. At the symposium, Yuzu will share insights on Bali’s agriculture and her project’s journey.
